ARCHIVED - More red dust in Malaga this weekend
The return of the Saharan dust in Malaga will be accompanied by another phenomenon known as the ‘Iberian oven’, which will make temperatures soar

A mass of warm African air is due to arrive in Malaga this weekend. Temperatures have already risen drastically this week, and many will be taking advantage of the good weather for a trip to the beach to cool down in the sea, especially when temperatures reach maximums of 32ºC in some areas.
However, the warm weather is due to bring with it another episode of Saharan dust, or ‘calima’, which will be accompanied by another phenomenon known as the ‘Iberian oven’ that will bring particularly high temperatures.
These temperatures are unusual for this time of year, as the average for this month is a maximum of 24ºC and a minimum of 14.
When will the haze go away in Malaga?
There will actually be rain in some parts of eastern Andalucía, which combined with the Saharan dust will make mud rain.
However, the dust particles and muddy rain are not expected to last beyond this weekend in Malaga and parts of Granada.
