Murcia forecast February 12-15: More weather warnings for strong wind all this weekend

The wind just won’t let up in Spain after a January that was one of the darkest and wettest in over a quarter of a century!

It seems hard to believe after so many weeks of gusty conditions, but incredibly the strong winds continue to bring yellow and orange weather alerts to Murcia and other parts of Spain. This Valentine’s weekend, the Region of Murcia is on alert for windspeeds that could reach up to 80kmh on the coast at times! Hold onto your hats (again)…

Thursday brings yellow winds alerts to all parts of Murcia except around La Manga and the Mar Menor, though it will be sunny all day long with maximum temperatures reaching up into the low 20s in central areas and around 17-19ºC in the far north of the region.

Friday will be the windiest day, with average windspeeds of a whopping 33-57kmh in every part of the region, with the potential for occasional gusts to reach up as high as 60-80kmh on the coastline, bringing waves of up to 4 metres. Not a day to go out to the beach to take photos, or to try your hand at watersports.

There will also be scattered showers coming and going all day long, and even some thunderstorms in the north around midday. Friday 13th indeed!

On Saturday, the most loving day of the year, it will be much sunnier and brighter, but still very windy, with the entire region and its coastline remaining on yellow alert all day long.

It is also a day when temperatures drop by a couple of degrees, cooling off to minimums of 5-9ºC in the north at night and 10-12ºC in the south; and 15-20ºC during the day. Not exactly wintry chill, but not hotting up as much as you might want things to on Valentine’s Day!

Once again, the middle part of the day could be quite windy, especially in northern, inland areas of Murcia.
