ARCHIVED - New cycle lane in Almoradi to encourage sustainable mobility and leisure cycling
The new cycle lane will connect the town centre with El Raiguero and Lomas de la Juliana
Almoradí Town Hall (in the Vega Baja Comarca of the Alicante province) has started building a new cycle lane this week (work began on Monday April 26) in an effort to improve sustainable transport by connecting the town of Almoradí with neighbouring areas, in this case El Raiguero and Lomas de la Juliana.
The cycle lane will allow pedestrians and cyclists alike to travel from the centre of Almoradí to nearby areas, as the path will start in the town centre and pass through the Las Maromas industrial estate, Algorfa and the Club de Tenis, connecting directly to El Raiguero and Lomas de la Juliana.
In addition, the new lane will also be connected to the Ruta del Agua, which follows the Segura river, and its channels, through the municipality, creating an attractive and practical cycling route, designed to not only offer practical and safe connections, but also encourage leisure cycling in the municipality.
This project is part of the Sustainable Development Objectives being carried out by the government and specifically aims to promote sustainable urban mobility, connecting areas used for sport, industrial areas and residential areas, which will favour lower carbon emissions.
