The local Town Hall in the municipality of Fuengirola is planning a new international library that caters for residents of all nationalities.
Located in the Los Boliches area, the new library will be twice the size of the existing structure and will offer books in several different languages.
The head of the Culture department in Fuengirola, Rodrigo Romero, has reinforced the importance of this new project as almost 33 per cent of the municipality’s population is foreign.
He added that the aim is to provide adapted services to international residents and “make them feel at home”.
Sr Romero has also expressed the department’s intention to continue improving the services on offer in the municipality, such as public libraries, making sure that these installations cater to international residents, especially the large British and Finnish colonies in the area.
