Rain at last: Andalusia weekend weather forecast February 22-25
Many parts of Andalucía are in for a wet and windy weekend
Andalucía weather warnings, Thursday February 22
The southeast of Andalucía, including the coasts of Málaga, Granada and Almería and inland Jaén, are under weather warnings this Thursday evening, February 22, and Friday morning, February 23, for very strong winds of up to 60kmh and in some places 75kmh and powerful waves that could reach as high as 8 metres.
It will be towards the afternoon and evening of Thursday when the heavy cloud cover begins spreading across Andalucía from the west, with rain expected in Cádiz province and the far northwest of the region, in Huelva.
The rain will come and go during the day on Friday, with Córdoba and Granada’s sunny spells turning to thunderstorms as night falls, even as temperatures remain stable at their current level, with highs of up to 19-20ºC and lows of around 8-11ºC.
While Sevilla and Almería should remain pretty dry for most of the weekend, the rain is set to intensify on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 in what will be a welcome downpour for those areas that have been deprived of water for so long. The Costa del Sol will continue to be on yellow alert all day on Saturday for large waves.

Even better, the rain should continue into Monday 26, but the current forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a return to sunshine after that. Conversely, it is from Tuesday 27 onwards, when the sun comes back out, that they forecast a sudden drop in temperatures by 4 or 5 degrees.
