Residents and staff lace up their trainers for Caser Residencial Málaga's first Healthy Walk event

The October event saw participants of all abilities enjoy friendly competition and post-race celebrations

There's something wonderfully uplifting about seeing people of all ages and abilities come together for a spot of healthy competition. That's exactly what happened at Caser Residencial Málaga on October 1, when the centre hosted its very first Healthy Walk to mark the International Day of Older Persons.

The entire team threw themselves into the spirit of the occasion, donning their sportswear and walking alongside residents who each proudly wore their race numbers at the starting line. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and anticipation as everyone prepared to set off together.

As participants crossed the finish line, they were greeted with well-deserved refreshments including cold water and fresh fruit. Ambient music created a relaxed and celebratory mood while everyone caught their breath and waited for the trophy presentation ceremony to begin.

Nobody went home empty-handed and every single participant received a medal to commemorate their achievement, but special recognition went to the top three finishers.

Lorenzo Molina secured an impressive third place, Antonia Hidalgo claimed the silver medal position and Trinidad Muñoz took home the gold as the day's champion.

By all accounts, it was an absolutely brilliant day filled with laughter, camaraderie and a real sense of accomplishment. The event proved so popular that organisers are already hoping to make it a regular fixture on the calendar.
