ARCHIVED - Several Andalucia flights delayed, diverted and cancelled due to fog
Flights to the Costa del Sol, Seville and Cádiz were all severely disrupted as a result of the weather

The Andalucia region is experiencing all four seasons this week but for travellers, the dense fog is causing the most disruption.
A thick blanket covered Seville Airport on Wednesday December 21, preventing the safe landing of seven flights that were instead diverted to Malaga. According to Aena, these planes flew from Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Barcelona, Pisa, Amsterdam and Bologna.
So obscuring was the fog that an additional two flights from Cádiz’s Jerez Airport to Madrid were cancelled altogether.
While Malaga Airport came to the rescue of Seville on Wednesday, passengers heading to the Costa del Sol the previous day weren’t so lucky when the same weather phenomenon resulted in three aborted landings.
The low clouds hovered just over what’s known as the “decision height” at Malaga Airport and after coming in to land, the pilot of an easyJet flight from Geneva diverted to Seville and another from London-Luton rerouted to Granada.
A third pilot return to the skis and circulated the runway until the fog dissipated enough for the plane to land.
Luckily for the passengers aboard the diverted flights, the weather cleared shortly afterwards and the planes were able to return to the Costa del Sol to land as normal.
