Sky-high temperatures carry Andalucia into August: weather forecast July 31-Aug 3
Orange and yellow heat alerts have been issued for much of the community of Andalucia this week
The heat took a bit of a breather in Andalucia during the last week of July but the thermometers are set to shoot up once more as we speed towards the new month, with five provinces at risk due to extreme heat on Monday July 31.
Córdoba and Jaén will bear the brunt of the suffocating heat, with temperatures likely to exceed 40ºC and an orange alert in place, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Granada, Malaga and Seville will fare little better; here, a yellow alert has been issued for temperatures in the very high 30s.
Clear skies are forecast inland but it will be more overcast along the coast with some episodes of fog likely early on.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Monday
Almeria: 23ºC to 31ºC
Cadiz: 22ºC to 28ºC
Cordoba: 21ºC to 39ºC
Granada: 19ºC to 38ºC
Huelva: 21ºC to 35ºC
Jaen: 24ºC to 38ºC
Malaga: 23ºC to 30ºC
Seville: 21ºC to 39ºC
The same weather warnings continue into Tuesday August 1, although only Malaga is on orange alert. Intervals of low morning clouds are forecast along the Mediterranean coast and in Cádiz but the rest of the region will be mostly clear. The temperatures will remain unchanged for the most part and could even fall slightly in places.

Almeria: 23ºC to 31ºC
Cadiz: 21ºC to 27ºC
Cordoba: 20ºC to 39ºC
Granada: 22ºC to 37ºC
Huelva: 19ºC to 34ºC
Jaen: 23ºC to 37ºC
Malaga: 25ºC to 40ºC
Seville: 20ºC to 38ºC
A yellow weather warning for heat remains in place in Córdoba, Jaén, Malaga and Seville on Wednesday August 2 but the temperatures will remain largely unchanged overall. Another mostly clear or slightly day is on the cards with occasionally strong westerly winds.

Almeria: 24ºC to 31ºC
Cadiz: 22ºC to 28ºC
Cordoba: 20ºC to 40ºC
Granada: 21ºC to 38ºC
Huelva: 21ºC to 35ºC
Jaen: 23ºC to 37ºC
Malaga: 25ºC to 36ºC
Seville: 20ºC to 40ºC
No weather alerts have been issued for Thursday August 3 and there will be very little change to with the day or nighttime temperatures. The skies will remain mostly clear while the westerly breezes persist, especially along the Mediterranean coast.
