Southend to Gran Canaria flights arrive in 2025
The UK airport will have six new destinations including Spain, Morocco and Turkey

Passengers flying between Spain and the UK will be spoiled for choice next year with the addition of six new flight routes from Southend Airport. easyJet has confirmed that it will operate flights from the Essex base to Pisa in Italy, Gran Canaria in Spain, Dalaman and Antalya in Turkey, Marrakech in Morocco, as well as Enfidha in Tunisia from May 2025.
easyJet is actually absent from Southend this year but it will re-establish its base there next spring with the view to having one of the busiest summers ever. Going forward, the tour operator will offer package holidays seven days a week: tickets go on sale on Friday May 17 for passengers to travel from May 1, 2025.
Southend will soon become easyJet’s tenth base in the United Kingdom and it’s the first time the Essex airport has ever run flights to Turkey or Africa. Passengers will be able to fly in style to all of the budget operator’s destinations via 186-seat A320neo planes, which the company claims are far quieter than its older aircraft.
Travellers looking to jet off to Spain from Southend will have several other international options to choose from, including Palma de Mallorca and Málaga.
There are also flights from Southend to Amsterdam, Geneva, Faro and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet, said, “We are delighted to be announcing another three-aircraft base in the UK, at London Southend Airport.
“Our continued growth and investment in the UK highlights the importance of the market where this year we will operate more flying than ever before with our customers choosing our flights and holidays because of our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares.”
