ARCHIVED - Storms, rain and yellow weather warnings in Andalusia: September 14, 15, 16 and 17
Andalucía’s eastern provinces are expected to be the worst hit by the rain this week
Aemet, the state Meteorological Agency, has forecast rain across the region of Andalucía this week, with yellow weather warnings in place for storms on Tuesday September 14.
Stormy weather from Portugal will travel east across the region on Tuesday, bringing cloudy weather and rain which is forecast to continue throughout the day. The worst of the storms will affect the eastern provinces of Andalucía, with yellow weather warnings in effect in Sevilla, Córdoba and Huelva until the late evening, where up to 20 litres per square metre are expected in an hour.
The area affected by the Sierra Bermeja wildfire in Málaga can also expect some rain, a welcome change of weather for the firefighters who have been battling the flames since last Wednesday September 8.
Temperatures are expected to drop slightly on Tuesday, with coastal regions forecast to reach around 25 degrees, while inland areas can expect between 15 and 20 degrees.
On Wednesday September 15, temperatures are forecast to increase slightly as the stormy weather continues to travel east, with patches of rain expected across the region.
Maximum temperatures are expected to return to normal, reaching the high twenties once again, on Thursday September 16 and Friday September 17, with some showers on Thursday morning and mostly sunny weather throughout Andalucía on Thursday afternoon and on Friday.
