Andalucía weather forecast, Monday February 26

A stormy Monday gives way to sunny, if cool, weather in Andalucía this week before more rain is forecast next Sunday, March 3.

It will be a very cold week in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Granada and the uplands of Jaén, where temperatures will drop below zero at night, but in most of the region minimums will be 4-5ºC, or up to 10-11ºC on the coasts of Cádiz, Málaga and Almería.

Maximum temperatures will be in the mid-teens in most of the inland areas, like Seville and Córdoba, while it will reach up to around 20ºC on the coast. Not cold, but slightly cooler than we’ve become accustomed to.

It is mostly central Andalucía which will have storms and rain this Monday February 26, with snow in parts of Jaén. In the east, around Almería, Granada and coastal Málaga, there will be weather warnings for winds of up to 75kmh, and the Strait of Gibraltar will also be on alert for winds of up to 61kmh.

These weather alerts for wind will be downgraded on Tuesday 27 and disappear completely by Wednesday 28, as will the rain storms. Rather, it will be bright and sunny as we wave goodbye to February and usher in March.

That changes on Sunday March 3, however, when the rains return, especially to the central corridor running from Cádiz, up through Málaga and Granada to Jaén and the north of Spain. It will also be much windier again, especially in Málaga and Almería.
