Sunshine and blue skies for Easter weekend: Alicante weather April 2-5
A lovely long weekend ahead, with a bit of cloud at first before the sunshine takes over

Easter weekend in Spain is one of those times when the weather becomes a big talking point, right alongside the processions. It can make all the difference to whether they go ahead, so all eyes are usually on the forecast.
The good news is that, in Alicante at least, it’s looking like a lovely long weekend overall. There’s a bit of cloud to start with on Thursday, but after that the sunshine really settles in, just in time for the main days of Semana Santa.
Thursday April 2 (Holy Thursday)
Holy Thursday will start with a bit of cloud, but don’t worry, the sun will make an appearance. It will feel a little chilly compared to Wednesday, especially inland, while along the coast temperatures will stay about the same.
A moderate northerly wind will pick up at times, making it feel fresher later in the day and into the evening.
Friday April 3 (Good Friday)
It looks like Good Friday will be even sunnier, with Aemet predicting sun for most of the day. Luckily, temperatures will start to rise, which will be welcome news for anyone planning to head out to the processions.
Winds will be lighter than Thursday, although there may still be a gentle northerly breeze in the morning.
Saturday April 4 (Holy Saturday)
Saturday is looking like one of those classic spring days clear skies, plenty of sunshine and really pleasant temperatures. Again, ideal if you’re planning to be out and about.
Winds stay light, with gentle sea breezes along the coast.
Sunday April 5 (Easter Sunday)
And finally Easter Sunday will be bright and sunny as well. It will get even warmer, perfect for the little ones out hunting Easter eggs! Winds will stay light with just some gentle coastal breezes predicted. Sounds like the perfect weather to take Easter dinner out onto the patio.
All in all, it sounds like a perfect spring weekend. With this weather, the processions in Alicante are all but certain to go ahead. For the cofradías who have been preparing all year, that is fantastic news. Easter weather is usually a bit mixed, so a sunny weekend like this will be welcomed by everyone, whether you’re out enjoying the processions, munching on Easter eggs, or having a long family lunch.

Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante:

Friday April 3: Min 5ºC, Max 23ºC
Saturday April 4: Min 8ºC, Max 24ºC
