ARCHIVED - Sunshine and showers to welcome autumn: Andalusia weather forecast September 19-25
There will be rain across the region this week, with temperatures dropping noticeably at the weekend

It will be a very mixed bag this week as far as the weather in Andalusia goes, with some sunny spells and temperatures reaching as high as 34ºC again, but other times of torrential rain and thunderstorms for the entire region – a trend that looks set to continue for the rest of the month as we welcome the official start of autumn on Friday September 23.
On Monday September 19, there will only be dark, heavy rainclouds accompanied by thunder and lightning in the extreme northwest of the autonomous community, where the province of Huelva borders Portugal and Extremadura, though thankfully there will be none of the yellow weather alerts for rainfall that were seen last week. The rest of Andalusia will be bright and sunny.

This dry spell will continue into the morning of Tuesday 20, but then the rains return again – not only to Huelva but also to Granada, Jaén and parts of Seville province. Malaga, Cadiz and Almeria on the coast will all escape safe and dry, though.

For Wednesday 21, however, no one is safe. There will be widespread rain across the whole of Andalusia all day, though interspersed with periods when the sunshine will break through the cloud cover.

Thursday 22 will be slightly drier in general, but it will be the chance of the eastern side of Andalusia to feel the worst of the rain, especially in Almeria on the border with Murcia.

From Friday 23 onwards and for the rest of the weekend, the outlook will be much the same, with sunshine and intermittent showers (or should that be showers and intermittent sunshine?!) across Saturday and Sunday, too.

Maximum and minimum temperatures will also drop over the weekend too, failing to reach over 30ºC in the daytime in either Granada, Seville or Cordoba – the hottest places in the region – a sign that things are likely to become much colder from here on out.
