The Torrevieja municipal theatre offers a wide range of entertainment

The Teatro Municipal de Torrevieja is located just inland from the main marina and the Paseo Vistalegre, next to the Museo del Mar y de la Sal.

The main hall has a seating capacity of 650, and the complex also boasts a rehearsal hall, a press room, two multi-use rooms, a VIP lounge, 8 individual dressing rooms, an orchestra pit and various office spaces. The stage is almost 400m2, and all of the most up-to-date stage technology is available.

Work on the new building, which was designed by Alejandro Zaera Polo and Antonio Marqueríe Tamayo, began in late 2003, and at the same time the Plaza Miguel Hernández was re-modelled to bring it into line with the modern theatre.

The box office opening hours depend on the time of year: from the start of September to the end of June tickets can be purchased from Tuesday to Friday between 11.00 and 13.00 and two hours before the curtain rises, while in the summer months the opening times are between 19.00 and 21.00 in the evening, as well as two hours before performances start.

There is a boxoffice located in an outside booth in front of the theatre when the main building is closed.

Parking: There is underground car parking right next to the theatre. Maximum height is 1.90 metres. Parking is always a problem in the centre of Torrevieja, but there are plenty of underground car parks. For those with high topped cars or driving camper vans, there is parking near to the port, although this does then necessitate a 10 minute walk to the theatre.
