Temperatures plunge as polar air sweeps across the country: Spain weather forecast Oct 8-11
Northern Spain will feel the biggest chill while Murcia, Andalucia and the Canary Islands stay comparatively warm

Weather outlook on bank holiday Saturday afternoon
After days of rain and storms, Spain is heading into a very different few days, with colder air set to bring a noticeable change in temperatures before things start warming up again for the bank holiday long weekend.
The shift actually began on Wednesday October 7, with a northerly flow bringing a mass of much colder polar air into the country. The biggest falls were felt across the north, while Thursday and Friday will see the cooler conditions spread further south.
Thursday October 8

The biggest temperature drops on Thursday will be across northern Spain, with parts of La Rioja, the Basque Country and Cantabria potentially seeing daytime temperatures fall by another 6-8°C.
Across much of the interior, maximum temperatures will generally sit around 20-23°C, while northern plateau areas could struggle to reach 20°C.
Further south, things will remain considerably warmer, with 24-27°C possible around the Mediterranean and lower and middle Ebro valley. Murcia could still reach around 28°C.
Friday October 9

The colder weather will spread into central and Mediterranean Spain on Friday, with the Balearic Islands also seeing a noticeable drop.
Much of the northern half of the country could see maximum temperatures below 20°C, while the centre, south and Mediterranean areas will generally reach 20-25°C.
The warmest spots are expected in Andalucia, Murcia and the Canary Islands, where temperatures could still climb to 27-28°C.
It will feel particularly chilly overnight, with minimum temperatures falling below 10°C across large parts of northern Spain. Some cities in northern Castilla-La Mancha could see early morning temperatures of just 5-7°C.
Saturday October 10

Saturday should mark the beginning of the recovery, although the morning will remain distinctly chilly across much of the country.
Temperatures will gradually start rising as the weather becomes more stable, but the contrast between chilly early mornings and warmer afternoons will be noticeable, particularly inland.
Sunday October 11

The warmer trend will continue into Sunday, bringing more comfortable conditions.
Although some parts of northern and inland Spain will still start the day with low temperatures, daytime conditions are expected to become increasingly mild. The overall weather picture should therefore be considerably calmer than the stormy conditions seen earlier in the week.
