Tennis icon Rafa Nadal plans multi-million euro housing developments in Costa del Sol
The tennis legend is designing two luxury residential buildings in Marbella and Estepona
Mallorca-born tennis legend Rafa Nadal is making a significant move into the luxury real estate market on the Costa del Sol. Teaming up with local developer Sierra Blanca Estates, Nadal is set to invest around 200 million euros in two high-end housing projects in Marbella and Estepona.
These ambitious developments, currently in the design phase, will offer more than 80 upscale residences. One of the projects will be situated in the Los Llanos area of Estepona, spanning 36 hectares. This prime beachfront location will feature six villas and 40 luxury apartments, described as being on "one of the best plots available for development."
The second project will be located in the prestigious Nagüeles area of Marbella, with plans for 40 high-end multi-family homes. The site offers breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and the iconic La Concha mountain. Covering 50,000 square metres, this development promises to add another layer of luxury to the region.
Both developer and owner are remaining tight-lipped on any specifics beyond this, but they have said the hope is that “the works can begin next year” on the two projects.
The plans are being developed under the concept of "branded residences," a model that blends luxury, top-tier services and iconic branding. Sierra Blanca Estates is no stranger to this approach, having already delivered EPIC by Fendi Casa residences and currently working on other branded projects, including five Karl Lagerfeld villas and 90 Dolce & Gabbana homes on the Golden Mile which are “under construction.”
Nadal’s connection to the Costa del Sol extends beyond real estate. He’s also collaborating with Sierra Blanca Estates to create a luxury tennis club in Malaga. After considering various locations, they’ve chosen to remodel and expand the existing Inacua racket centre.
