Torrential rain puts most of Andalucia on high alert: Weather forecast Jan 19-21
The rain should ease off in southern Spain over the weekend after the passage of storm Juan
Storm Juan is raging over most of Spain at the moment, leaving numbing cold and drenching storms in its wake, and Andalucia looks set to be one of the worst affected regions at the beginning of the weekend.
Almost half the provinces have been placed on alert on Friday for driving winds and rain and treacherous sea conditions, but these storms should abate as the days go by.
Friday January 19
The entire region will be very overcast on Friday and nowhere will escape the rain, but the storms and hail showers will be far heavier in western Andalucia, especially in the first half of the day.
The snow level will drop to between 1,600 and 1,800 metres as the temperatures fall across the board.
Moderate westerly winds will develop into very strong gusts along the coasts.
