Torrevieja is upgrading three of its busiest beaches
A €385,000 tender has been approved for improvement works at Cala Piteras, Playa del Cura and Cabo Cervera

Torrevieja City Council has approved a €385,000 tender for improvement works at three of its most visited beaches, with Cala Piteras, Playa del Cura and Cabo Cervera all set to benefit from upgraded access, safety features and infrastructure. The works are expected to take around three months once the contract is signed off.
At Cala Piteras, the focus is on making the most of what's already a beautiful natural setting with rocky terrain and real scenic value. The planned works will improve access safety, stabilise and upgrade existing ramps, renew railings and protective elements, and make it easier and safer for all users to get down to the water, particularly given the more challenging geography of the site.
Playa del Cura, one of the city's most popular and heavily used urban beaches, is getting a thorough infrastructure refresh to bring it up to the standard its year-round footfall demands. Work here includes repairing access points and walkways, renovating ramps, replacing worn-out railings and improving universal accessibility throughout.
Cabo Cervera, on Torrevieja's northern coast, will see deteriorated structural elements repaired, access points and transit areas improved, new safety features installed and the existing infrastructure brought into line with current accessibility regulations.
Across all three beaches, the common thread is better access for people with reduced mobility, safer and more functional ramps and railings, and the replacement of infrastructure that has simply worn out over time.
