Tourist drops dead at Malaga Airport
The 64-year-old collapsed minutes after landing in the Costa del Sol
A 64-year-old tourist died on Wednesday evening, April 24, just moments after he landed at Málaga Airport.
The man suffered a heart attack at the main arrivals gate of Terminal 3 and died instantly, Emergencies 112 Andalucía, who responded to the incident, has confirmed.
At 8.20pm, the emergency services received several calls from other passengers notifying them that an older man had collapsed and was lying on the ground in the arrivals hall, apparently unresponsive.
According to one shocked witness, the traveller dropped dead on the spot as he was leaving the airport.
The airport authorities and paramedics, as well as members of 061 and agents of the Local Police and National Police, all travelled to the scene in the hopes of saving the man’s life.
Sadly though, the victim had already started to turn blue as a result of cardiorespiratory arrest and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Neither the man’s nationality nor the origin of the flight he travelled to Málaga on have been released by the authorities.
