TOWIE star James Argent given suspended sentence after pushing girlfriend down steps in Spain

Reality TV personality admits to domestic violence after row with beauty queen during Costa del Sol holiday

Former TOWIE star James Argent has been handed a suspended jail sentence after admitting to pushing his girlfriend, Swedish model Nicoline Artursson, during a heated argument in Spain.

The incident took place last Monday during what was meant to be a romantic break on the Costa del Sol. According to The Sun, the 37-year-old reality star shoved Artursson during a row at her home, pushing her towards the door. She reportedly fell down two steps outside the property, screaming as she hit the ground, which led neighbours to call the police.

Artursson, 32, is said to have required hospital treatment following the fall, though details of her injuries have not been made public.

Argent was arrested shortly after the incident and taken to a police cell, where he spent several hours before being brought before a judge in Fuengirola later that same day. He admitted to a charge of domestic violence in court, where Artursson was also present.

The court gave him a six-month suspended sentence and imposed a two-year restraining order. He was also ordered to complete a resocialisation programme focused on gender violence.

The couple had reportedly been together for nine months. A source close to the couple told The Sun the relationship is now over.

Argent is understood to have flown back to Essex after the court appearance, while Artursson remains in Spain. A friend of the star said he is “extremely sorry” for what happened.

“He said he had a row with Nicoline and that he tried to end the argument. James said he pushed Nicoline and that she fell,” the friend said. “He is remorseful about what happened but is insisting he never meant any harm.”

The court appearance comes just days after the pair were seen relaxing on the beach together, with reports suggesting Argent had been planning to propose. Earlier this month, a source told OK! Magazine the reality star felt he had found his soulmate.

Their relationship began after a chance meeting outside a supermarket in Marbella, and they had spoken openly about falling in love at first sight.
