Two drivers caught drunk behind the wheel of same car in Cádiz
One driver was twice the legal limit, and the second driver was similarly intoxicated, leading to fines and penalties

The first driver, a woman, was found to be over twice the legal alcohol limit when stopped by two local police officers. She was also travelling with a minor, which further raised concerns. After performing the breathalyser test, the results showed a reading well beyond the legal limit. A third person, who had not been drinking, took control of the car to prevent it from being impounded.
Shortly after, two acquaintances of the driver arrived at the scene from a nearby bar, both appearing intoxicated as well. The officers were verbally confronted by the men, but they were asked to leave the area while the driver was taken to the police station. However, moments later, the same vehicle was spotted driving along Avenida de La Coruña, with the same individuals inside.
The officers stopped the car again, and once more, a breathalyser test was carried out on the woman. Her reading was nearly identical to the previous result, well over twice the legal limit. As a result, the vehicle was impounded, and both drivers were fined €1,000 each, along with the loss of six points from their driving licences.
This was not an isolated case. Over the weekend, local police conducted traffic controls across Cádiz, stopping a total of 790 vehicles. Around 7% of these drivers were found to be in violation of traffic laws. Offences included 18 drivers not wearing seatbelts, 13 using mobile phones while driving, and 11 without valid vehicle inspections. In addition, four drivers were reported for serious offences, including two for alcohol levels above 0.60 mg/l and two for positive drug tests.
The police also conducted additional operations for public safety during the Little Carnival and the football match between Cádiz CF and Granada CF.
