ARCHIVED - WATCH: Drunk British tourists arrested for attacking taxi driver in Magaluf
The UK holidaymakers, in their early 20s, punched and kicked the Spanish driver while he was on the ground

Two young British tourists, aged just 21 and 22, were arrested on Tuesday night August 23 for a viscous attack on a taxi driver in the popular Spanish holiday destination of Magaluf in Mallorca.
According to sources from the Calvià Guardia Civil, the altercation began in the early hours of Monday morning when three holidaymakers, who appeared intoxicated, climbed on top of a taxi which was parked on Calle Blanc. When the driver, 57, got out of his vehicle to chase the young men away, witnesses claim that one of the suspects, the 21-year-old, attacked, knocking the taxi driver to the ground. He then proceeded to kick and punch him.
At least two onlookers recorded the brutal assault while other passers-by attempted to break up the fight and called the emergency services, reporting that the taxi driver was bleeding badly from a cut to the head.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene for several bruises and a gash above his eyebrow before he was transferred to the Son Espases Hospital. His injuries were minor and he has already been released.
Police immediately arrested the youngest Briton, who they believed to be the instigator of the attack. After taking statements from several witnesses, a few hours later a second British tourist was also arrested.
In a show of solidarity with their injured colleague, local taxi drivers temporarily ceased their services in Magaluf on Tuesday, although services to hospitals and the airport have been covered.
Recently, it was revealed that a British holidaymaker involved in a serious altercation with bouncers and Police at a Magaluf nightclub died from an overdose. Prior to the post-mortem, several social media groups in the UK targeted one of the officers involved in subduing the intoxicated tourist, accusing him of police brutality and murder.
