ARCHIVED - Weather warnings continue for widespread rain and strong winds: Andalusia weather forecast December 12-18
The region is on alert once again as a massive storm sweeps through Spain this week
Andalusia weather warnings, Tuesday December 13
Storm Efraín is pushing its way through Spain this week, and while places like the Region of Murcia should remain fairly untouched and pleasant, neighbouring Andalusia will feel the full force of the wind and driving rain this week.
There were already downed trees and flooding as a result of the heavy rains in the past few days, and we may be in for more of the same at the beginning of this week. Monday December 12 will be grey and rainy for many in the north of the region, but the worst will begin to come on Tuesday afternoon when the rain spreads westwards and to the southern coastline.
By Wednesday 14, there will be thunderstorms across large parts of the region, and weather warnings have been issued for all three days, not only for the rain but also for strong winds of up to gale force 8 in some places, including Almeria, with windspeeds up to 70kph and waves 3-4 metres high.

For all that, Almeria will be drier than most places in the rest of Andalusia, such as Seville, Cadiz and Malaga, where there will still be heavy downpours into Thursday and Friday.
Incredibly, though, the rain will give way to bright sunshine and dry conditions over the weekend, with the rain only persisting gently in Marbella and Ronda.
