Weather warnings in Andalusia this weekend: Forecast May 31-June 2
It will be very hot this weekend and windy in parts, but from Saturday temperatures will begin to go down
Andalucía weather warnings, Friday May 31
It’s so hot that weather alerts have been issued for Andalucía this weekend. The Guadalquivir valley – around Seville and Córdoba provinces, mainly – will have such “significantly high temperatures” of up to 38 and 39ºC, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), that yellow weather warnings are in place this Friday May 31 from 1pm to 8pm.
On the coast, meanwhile, such as in Málaga and Almería, maximum temperatures during the day will be around 22-28ºC. Minimums at night across the whole of Andalucía will be in the teens, around 12 to 18ºC.
In addition, there are strong winds around the Strait of Gibraltar this weekend, with occasional very strong gusts of up to 61kmh, which means that this part of Cádiz province is on yellow alert this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
For the rest, say Aemet, there will be “fairly cloudy or clear skies” and possibly even “isolated and occasional showers” and “thunderstorms” in the mountains of the east of the region, around Jaén and Granada.
In general, temperatures will decrease over the course of the weekend, dipping down to 22ºC on the coast and 34ºC in inland areas on Sunday June 2. However, going into next week, Aemet predicts the temperatures will get hotter again come Tuesday and Wednesday.
