The Andalucia 112 Emergency Centre received a distress call at 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon, October 12, from an individual who had discovered a body in the Guadalhorce River in the municipality of Malaga. According to the witness, the male victim was wearing a wetsuit and his body had become entangled in some brambles along the river bank.
The Malaga Fire Brigade, along with officers from the Local and National Police were dispatched to the scene and confirmed the death of the man, whose body was dragged from the river by firefighters.
Malaga City Council reported the incident on social media but at the moment no further details pertaining to the man’s age, nationality or cause of death have been released.
