What are the public holidays in Andalusia for 2023?
These are the Spanish and Andalusian public bank holidays for the year 2023

In Spain this year, there are 12 national public holidays or ‘festivos’, and the autonomous community of Andalusia will add 3 more days to the calendar of non-working days.
On festivos, most workers are given a day off work and children are let off school, while banks and several shops, supermarkets and other businesses are closed.
These are the public bank holidays that will be celebrated in Andalusia in 2023:
- January 2 (New Year – moved over from January 1)
- January 6 (Three Kings Day)
- February 28 (Andalusia Day)
- April 6 (Maundy Thursday)
- April 7 (Good Friday)
- May 1 (Labour Day)
- August 15 (Feast of the Assumption)
- October 12 (Spanish National Day)
- November 1 (All Saints’ Day)
- December 6 (Spanish Constitution Day)
- December 8 (Immaculate Conception)
- December 25 (Christmas)
In addition, each city and town will have two days for its own local holidays.
There are numerous public holidays that fall on Fridays or Mondays this year, or which are close to the weekend. In these circumstances, many people choose to take a so-called ‘puente’, combining their annual leave with these festivos to have a longer weekend off.
