80-year-old woman drowns at Los Narejos beach
Emergency teams were unable to save the 80-year-old, who was pulled unconscious from the water

An 80-year-old woman died while bathing at Los Narejos beach in Los Alcázares on Thursday May 8, despite the swift intervention of beachgoers, lifeguards and emergency health services.
Emergency services were alerted at 1.33pm, when a call to 112 Emergency responders reported that several people on the beach had pulled an unconscious woman from the water. A lifeguard immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while awaiting the arrival of medical personnel.
Responding to the scene were members of the Civil Protection service of Los Alcázares, a Guardia Civil patrol and a Mobile Emergency Unit from the 061 Emergency and Health Emergency Department. Despite their combined efforts to revive her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details about the identity of the deceased have been released.
