April 14 Charity darts, petanque and pool competition at Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort

Have fun, make new friends and donate to worthy local causes this April

On Monday April 14, the community group Terrazas Darts is hosting a joint darts, petanque and pool competition at the Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort in Torre Pacheco to raise money for local charities.

Started by Las Terrazas expat resident Phil Holmes, this event follows the successful Darts and Petanque fundraiser and raffle last December.

“Although it was off-season, the events and raffle raised more than €1,100 for the three chosen charities, with the bulk benefitting cancer patients with our donation to the MABS charity in San Javier,” explained Phil. “Donations also benefitted under-privileged children through the Foodbank in Torre Pacheco and an animal rescue foundation.”

This April’s charity competition is taking place at The 19th Hole bar at Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort and starts at 2pm. It will consist of a Men’s Darts Knockout competition, a Ladies’ Darts Knockout, Petanque (Boule) Tournament and a Pool-Billard Tournament.

The entry fee is €10 for each tournament, which includes the €2 game fee on the pool table. Raffle tickets are €1 each, sold only in multiples of five tickets.

Anyone interested in taking part should be there by 1.30pm at the latest in order to register.

The event is open to the general public and all cash taken for tournament entry fees and raffle ticket purchases goes 100% to the selected charities.

The charities being supported by this event will be MABS in Torre Pacheco, who provide practical assistance for cancer sufferers, and the Torre Pacheco foodbank, which helps families and children who need it most.
