ARCHIVED - Cartagena council opens the way for shopping development at las Dunas, in Cabo de Palos
The project has been on hold for some considerable time but now has the green light to start moving forward
Cartagena council has announced that it "has taken a crucial step to unblock procedures relating to unit number 2 in the CP 2 sector of Cabo de Palos, popularly known as Las Dunas”.
The Urban Planning Commission has formally approved an agreement for the granting of urban use in this area, that will allow the reorganization of the plan parcial to incude commercial activity and development on the plot.
This finally opens the way to the commercial development of the more than 20,000 square meters allocated for Las Dunas and destined to commercial establishments in Cabo de Palos.
The company that holds joint ownership of the land, together with the City Council of Cartagena, is now able to pay 129,264 euros for the first two plots on which it plans to build a fast food establishment on plot 5 A and a service station, on plot 5 B.
“This is a very important first step to unblock the urban development of Las Dunas,” said Mayoress, Ana Belén Castejón, who will soon end her two year period as Mayoress and hand over to Noelia Arroyo of the PP, in line with an agreement reached after the last elections.
“This is the first part of the commercial park , CP 2, of Las Dunas that we have managed to unblock and we hope that very soon we will be able to continue taking new steps in this regard,” the mayoress commented.
