ARCHIVED - Supply shortage of 463 drugs in Spain
Pharmacies can offer generic alternatives to patients in Spain
With a global supply crisis looking like a distinct possibility in the coming weeks, the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has reported on Monday November 8 that some 463 medicines are proving very difficult to find in pharmacies in Spain. This situation has been worsening since the end of October.
The shortage in supply affects many well-known drugs such as Trankimazin, Omeprazole and Paracetamol.
Despite the scarcity of certain medications, AEMPS has assured that there are several other drugs on the market with the same active ingredients as their usual dose and so patients shouldn’t be deprived of their treatment.
The complete list of drugs affected by the supply shortage can be found on the Ministry of Health website.
