ARCHIVED - Benalmadena hit by 4.1 magnitude earthquake
The tremors were felt in several other towns across Málaga province on the Costa del Sol
An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 with its epicentre in Benalmádena was felt in several parts of Málaga province on Sunday evening, November 28.
According to the National Geographic Institute (IGN), the seismic activity occurred at 8.47pm at a depth of 60km, and was felt in Benalmádena Costa, Arroyo de la Miel, Estepona, Fuengirola, Mijas, Málaga city, Velez-Málaga, Álora and Torremolinos.
Despite several towns being shaken by the quake, Emergencias 112 Andalucía confirmed it has not received any calls in relation to the movement.
Last month, the emergency services warned of hoax and fake earthquake news following an earthquake of the same magnitude in the Sevilla town of Pruna.
