ARCHIVED - Biggest ever cannabis haul with street value of 65M euros seized in raids across Spain
According to Spanish police "this is the largest cache of packaged marijuana" ever seized

A series of raids across Spain has brought down a "complex business network" and led to the seizure of the largest haul of cannabis ever found, according to Spanish police.
More than 32 tons of the drug, with an estimated street value of 65 million euros, was discovered following raids in Valencia, Toledo, Ciudad Real and Asturias last month. Details of 'Operation Gardens' were only made public on Saturday November 5, when it was confirmed nine men and 11 women, aged between 20 and 59, were arrested during the nationwide busts.

In a statement, the Guardia Civil said the "complex business network" was exporting the drugs across Europe. The business was run by several "companies" involved in different parts of the operation, from purchasing the seeds to growing and drying out the plants, to packaging and shipping.
"The Guardia Civil has seized the largest cache of packaged marijuana found so far. It was equivalent to approximately 1.1 million plants," added the police statement.
