ARCHIVED - Brave Briton saves man from burning building on the Costa del Sol
One person has died and two have needed medical attention after the Fuengirola fire

The fire broke out in the apartment block on Avenida Ramón y Cajal just before midday, but when the fire department arrived at the scene, they found the woman lifeless inside the house.
One British businessman, Thomas Barnes, son of the owner of the nearby antiques shop Anthony’s Antiques, climbed into the burning building on his ladder and managed to save one man with the help of a fire extinguisher he borrowed from a neighbour.
A further two people, aged 45 and 52, needed medical attention.
The Town Hall of Fuengirola has decreed an official day of mourning for this Friday, March 17, from 12pm onwards. They will cancel any municipal activities planned for the day, including the exaltation of the Mantilla, theatrical activities and concerts in retirement homes.
