May 31 Vejer prepares to glow for Candle Night 2025
A magical evening of candlelit streets, live music and unforgettable views in the heart of Vejer de la Frontera

This annual event has become one of the highlights of the town’s cultural calendar, drawing crowds of visitors who come to soak up the enchanting atmosphere as the entire historic centre is lit only by candlelight.
As the sun sets, more than 18,000 candles will be carefully placed throughout the old town, illuminating iconic spots like the Plazuela, Juderia Street, Rosario Street, the Plaza de España and La Corredera. The electric lights will be turned off, allowing the natural flicker of candlelight to showcase Vejer’s whitewashed buildings and cobbled alleys in a truly magical way.
One of the most anticipated moments of the evening will be the candlelit concert, usually held in Plaza de España, known locally as Plaza de los Pescaítos. The music is expected to begin around 9.45pm, and visitors are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full experience.
If you're planning to attend, there are two main parking options to help you get close to the action. Los Remedios is a free car park located about 500 metres from Plaza de España. Alternatively, La Corredera offers paid parking with easy access to the historic centre. Routes will be clearly marked and organisers, along with Civil Protection staff, will be stationed throughout the area to ensure everything runs smoothly.
