Corvera Airport duty free gets swanky new makeover
There are two new shopping areas, one of which has a fancy gastrobar eatery area inside

The Region of Murcia International Airport in Corvera has just got two new recently renovated duty-free shops where passengers flying from the airport can shop to their heart’s delight in the departure lounge.
As airport manager Aena noted in a press release about the new openings, one of the two duty-free areas is oriented towards “gourmet products” and the other is more geared towards sweets and toys.
According to Aena, the aim of this makeover project was “to offer passengers a greater variety of shops with an attractive design in line with current airport trends, as well as to improve the user experience and promote regional products”.
Basically, they’ve placed the duty free just after the security control so passengers have no choice but to have a gander at the products on offer, hopefully being sucked into buying something.
Or, as Aena puts it, “This shop has been redesigned with a new configuration integrated into the natural passage of passengers towards the boarding area, as is the case in many European airports.”
The new duty-free area sells perfume, cosmetics, international food, local products, liquors, souvenirs and more.
In addition, AIRM has just opened ‘La buena vida foodie’, an area that serves delicatessen products and has a tasting bar so that passengers can try the local gastronomy and wines from the Region of Murcia with the Jumilla, Yecla and Bullas denomination of origin, which can also be purchased there.
Likewise, travellers who want to grab a snack before catching their flight will be able to enjoy “salted meats, Murcian sausages, preserves and a wide range of typical products” in the gastrobar-type area.
Then, there is the new (smaller) ‘Tutti Frutti’ shop, selling sweets, toys and stuffed animals.
“These new additions expand the commercial offer at the Region of Murcia International Airport, which has four restaurants (Semba, Foods and Goods, Costa Coffee and Subway) and a total of six shops (two WHSmith, Duty Free, Tutti Frutti, Submarine and La buena vida foodie),” concludes Aena.
