Helping those affected by the DANA storms in Spain: A guide to donations, food collections and support
Floods have caused serious damage and loss of life in the Valencian Community, Andalucía and Castilla-La Mancha
The devastating floods caused by the DANA storms have left a trail of destruction in the Valencian Community, Andalucía and Castilla-La Mancha, resulting in more than 150 deaths, extensive material damage and dozens of people still missing.
As the affected communities struggle to come to terms with the disaster, it's essential that we come together to provide support and assistance.
Information telephone numbers
If you're looking for information on how to help or need assistance yourself, here are some essential telephone numbers to keep handy:

Donations
Every little bit counts, and your donation can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by the floods. Here are some ways to donate:
- Red Cross: Call 900 104 971 or visit their website at www2.cruzroja.es/colabora

Cáritas has also set up two accounts for making donations by bank transfer, as well as through their website www.caritas.es:

Blood donations
Three blood donation points have been set up in Valencia:
- Luis Vives Institute of Valencia (Calle Xàtiva, 11) from 11am to 9pm
- Valencian Community Transfusion Centre (Avenida del Cid, 65 acc.) from 8.30am to 9pm
- Donation Room of La Fe Hospital, from 8.30am to 2pm.
Food and clothing collection
Several collection points have been set up in Valencia and surrounding areas:
- Mestalla stadium: Food and basic necessities
- Calle San Juan Bosco, 48: Clothing, basic necessities and food
- Ribarroja Town Hall: Warm clothing and blankets at the CEIP Cervantes, located at Calle Metge Fleming
- Torrent: Solidarity point at number 1 Calle Sol, in the Vedat Pavilion
In the Community of Madrid, basic necessities, clothing and non-perishable foods are being collected to be taken to Valencia:
- San Blas, at Calle Lucas Mallada, 1, local 2, from 2pm to 9pm
- Renfe in Pozuelo de Alarcón, on Calle Segundo de Mata (donations at the gate).
Reception centres
Several reception centres have been set up for people who need a place to stay after the DANA:
- Valencia: Paseo de la Petxina, 42
- Requena: Local theatre, located at Calle Cruces, 5
- Utiel: El Tollo hotel, on Calle Altos de San Agustín
