Iker Casillas pays a surprise visit to La Azohía, Murcia
The former Real Madrid and Spanish national team goalkeeper shared images of the sunset on the coast of Cartagena on social networks

La Azohía has enjoyed an illustrious visitor this week: the 2010 football World Cup winner, Íker Casillas.
The former Real Madrid, Porto and Spanish national team goalkeeper shared a photo on Instagram of himself posing with the beautiful sunset in La Azohía, with Isla Plana in the background.
Casillas added the simple caption in Spanish “Qué hermosa eres!” (‘How beautiful you are!’) and tagged his location as Cartagena, Murcia, sharing the image with his 20.8 million Instagram followers.
He also shared another very similar image on his Instagram stories, but with a slightly different viewpoint, in which he continued to enjoy the beautiful summer sunset this coast of Murcia offers.
44-year-old Casillas is a native of Madrid and bears the nickname ‘San Iker’ (the Saint) for his ability to produce miraculous saves. He is considered by some to be one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
This is the first time Casillas has been seen in the Region of Murcia since a conference in 2022 and his prior visits as a footballer.
