ARCHIVED - Incidence rate creeps back up but hospital admissions keep dropping: Andalusia Covid update March 30
Spain’s southern region of Andalucía has experienced a similar rebound in Covid cases as the rest of the country

14-day incidence rate in Andalucía since March 2020
Coronavirus figures have rebounded across Spain over the last seven days following weeks of a steady fall in new infections. Consequently, after plateauing somewhat, the incidence rate has begun to creep up again.
In the region of Andalucía, the case is much the same, with the incidence rate now standing at 319.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which is 9.5 more than at the last count, according to data published on Tuesday under the decision of the Junta to offer the figures only two days a week.
Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of cases in Andalucía has risen to 1,402,843, with 13,291 deaths and 1,347,609 people recovered.
New infections
There were 6,568 new cases in the last four days in the region. Most of those diagnosed were in Malaga (1,732); followed by Cadiz with 1,061, Seville, 977; Córdoba, 797; Almería, 642; Jaén, 421; Granada, 509; and Huelva, 429
Cumulative incidence rate
The 14-day cumulative incidence rate has risen once again to 319.5 cases per 100,000 people. The provinces with the highest rate are Huelva with 422.1 and Malaga, with 421.7, while the lowest is Seville, with 209.4.
Hospitalisations
Andalusian hospitals have this Tuesday 551 patients with coronavirus, 31 fewer than last Saturday, as reported by the Ministry of Health. Fifty-seven of these patients are in the ICU, two fewer than on Saturday.
The hospitalisations by province were distributed in Almeria 31, of which four were in the ICU, Cadiz (83 and 4); Córdoba (45 and 9); Granada (56 and 4); Huelva (24 and 2); Jaén (53 and 5); Malaga (134 and 11), and Seville (125 and 18).
Deaths
Deaths have also risen to 23, eight in Seville, four in Almería, two in Jaén, Huelva, Granada, Córdoba and Cadiz, and one in Malaga.
Vaccinations
In Andalucía, where 18,284,017 doses of covid-19 vaccine have been administered, 4,196,731 people have already received three doses, while 7,583,912 people have received at least one.
99.9% of Andalusian schools are free of coronavirus, as there is not one complete closure of schools (out of 7,133 schools, 0%), and only one classroom closure (out of 78,687 classrooms, 0.001%), with six reopenings.
