Jet ski gathering and illegal camp broken up at Mar Menor beach
Authorities act swiftly to protect the natural environment of Los Alemanes in La Manga

Government Delegate Francisco Lucas ordered the intervention to safeguard this sensitive coastal environment. The operation concluded at around 1.30pm, with authorities removing ten boats that were anchored illegally and fining their owners through the Maritime Authority. At the same time, 14 caravans, which had been set up without permission on the shore, were dismantled and removed by the Guardia Civil.

The Government Delegate also thanked local residents who reported the situation, recognising the crucial role of citizen collaboration in preserving the fragile ecosystem. This recent crackdown echoes earlier actions taken by the Government Delegation and Cartagena Ayuntamiento, who increased patrols at Ciervo Island in late August to prevent a similar illegal maritime event and camping.
This latest operation highlights ongoing efforts to maintain the delicate balance of the Mar Menor, a natural treasure whose preservation remains a priority in the face of recreational activities that threaten its well-being.
Residents and visitors are reminded that the Mar Menor is a protected space and that authorities will continue to enforce regulations to prevent harm to this unique environment.
