Hike to the 368-metre Collado de las Víboras in the Mazarrón countryside

July 31 Free guided hike in the Sierra de las Moreras in Mazarron This evening hike on the northern side of the mountains of the Sierra de las Moreras follows the gorge of Los Algezares and the peak of Collado de las Víboras, where the view opens out to reveal the Mediterranean below. The route covers a distance of approximately 5.4 kilometres and, surprisingly, is apparently expected to take around three and a half hours - there is plenty of climbing and descending involved!

The walk begins at 18.00, with participants asked to make their own way to the starting point (which will be communicated to them after registration). Registration is available online here and further information can be obtained from the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón (Plaza Toneleros, telephone 968 594426, email oficinaturismomazarron@gmail.com).

Walkers must bring at least a litre of drinking water and appropriate hiking footwear (this is a fairly demanding walk), while Nordic walking poles are recommended.
