Jumilla rubbish tip to get a makeover
Jumilla Town Council will invest more than 70,000 euros in improvements to the Ecopark and waste collection services

The Region of Murcia government has set aside almost 2.5 million euros of its annual budget to improve sanitation services in 13 different municipalities. From this aid, Jumilla is to receive the princely sum of 70,650 euros, which it will spend on a makeover of the Ecoparque rubbish tip and more efficient rubbish collection around the town.
Jumilla Town Council explained that a large portion of the funding will go towards the purchase of a new electric garbage truck that will focus on collecting bulky household items from around the public bins.
The Ecopark will also be tidied up to ensure it complies with the current regulations regarding sustainable waste management and the council will continue to promote recycling and a circular economy at a local level.
