Malaga Airport launches new connection with the UK
Jet2 will fly between Bristol and the Costa del Sol four days a week

Malaga Airport has once again increased its connections with the UK, launching four flights per week between the Costa del Sol and Bristol as of Tuesday July 25. Jet2holidays, the leading operator in Britain, will fly four days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sunday) with a total of eight trips between departures and arrivals.
This summer, the airline will offer 11,000 arrival seats along this route, a figure it plans to double by the 2024 high season.
Jet2’s operations in Malaga grew by 8% in the first quarter of the year and the airline now flies to nine other UK destinations: Belfast, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London-Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle.
Between January and June of this year, almost 2.5 million passengers travelled on commercial flights to or from the United Kingdom, the British market now easily contributing the highest volume of traffic at the Costa del Sol airport.
The first half of 2023 was best in Malaga Airport’s history, with more than 10 million travellers passing through its doors between January and June, a figure that exceeds the record for the same period last year by 23.3% It’s also 9.2% higher than pre-pandemic 2019.
The United Kingdom remains at the forefront in terms of passenger volume, with more than 2.4 million, followed by Germany (703,698), the Netherlands (635,208), France (559,553), Italy (459,891) and Ireland (450,890).
Last month alone, 2,179,575 passengers transited through the Costa del Sol airport, 14.3% more than in the same month last year and 6% more than in 2019.
Several records have been broken already, and the hotspot can now boast that it has surpassed the maximum number of passengers welcomed in its more than one hundred years of history.
