Airlines have scheduled almost 18 million seats to and from the Costa del Sol airport over the next seven months
Malaga is one of the five busiest airports in Spain, and this summer will connect with even more global cities, with flights to and from 130 destinations this summer.
Between now and the end of October, airlines have scheduled almost 18 million seats in a bid to reach 2022 levels for the whole of the year of 18.5 million travellers.
According to the airport authority Aena, carriers are offering 14.4% more seats than for the same peak season of 2019, with a flight scheduled growth of 9.7%.
This will see a total of 99,400 operations over the 31 weeks of peak season this year.
The majority of the 130 destinations are in Europe, but Malaga airport is reinstating a New York route that was grounded by Delta Airlines in 2019.
United Airlines will take on the route from May 31, with three flights per week.
Malaga is also reinforcing its direct connections to other parts of North America starting with Montreal, the largest city in the province of Quebec, Canada.
From May, Malaga airport will also offer direct flights to Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia. And there will be non-stop flights from Malaga to 14 cities in African this summer.
