Malaga rallies behind Valencia: How you can help the flood victims
Institutions, companies, associations and residents join forces and set up various collection points across the Costa del Sol
As the people of Valencia struggle to recover from the devastating effects of the DANA, the community of Malaga is rallying behind them with a wave of solidarity and support. From collection points to financial aid, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those affected.
Malaga City Council, institutions, companies, associations and residents are all joining forces to collect aid and deliver it to those in need. The Rapid Response Volunteer Group has activated a collection of aid, which will be channelled through Maskom, to provide essential items to the affected areas.
Collection points
From supermarkets to community centres, collection points are popping up all over Malaga to gather non-perishable food, cleaning materials and other essential items. Some of the collection points include:
- Maskom supermarkets (57 locations throughout Malaga and the province. Collections from Monday 4 to Friday 8 November
- Mercadona supermarkets on Calle Martínez Maldonado and Avenida Doctor. Collections from Tuesday 5 November.
- University of Malaga (Collections November 4 and 5 from 8.30am to 8.30pm
- Trinidad-Centro Residents' Association (Calle Jaboneros, 5)
- Yummy Ice Cream (Calle Molina Lario, 6)
- Malaga Animal and Plant Protection Agency (Camino de las Erizas, 4)
- Clínica Baños de Carmen (Calle Bolivia, 41)
- Miscota Málaga el Viso (Av. Washington, 45)
- Miscota Málaga Suárez (Camino de Suárez, 64)
- Miscota Málaga Thuillier (Calle Emilio Thuillier, 18)
- Miscota Benalmádena (Av. Inmaculada Concepción, local 1 – Benalmádena)
- Miscota Marbella (Av. Jacinto Benavente, Mercado Municipal Local 5 – Marbella)
- Miscota Torremolinos (Av. Manantiales, 30 – Torremolinos)
What's needed?
The most urgent needs include:
- Non-perishable food (rice, legumes, milk, canned goods)
- Cleaning materials (buckets, dustpans, brooms, gloves)
- Diapers
- Milk
- Water
- Hygiene products
- Blankets
- Shovels
- Rakes
- Motor pumps
- Signage material
- Footwear
Clothing is not currently needed.
Financial aid
If you're unable to donate physical items, you can still make a difference through financial aid.
The Red Cross and Caritas are two organisations accepting donations to support those affected by the DANA.

Many brotherhoods and associations are also collecting food, supplies and charitable donations to send to Valencia in the coming days. Some of these organisations include:
