May 2-12 Patios de Cordoba fair returns to Andalucia
Immerse Yourself in Córdoba's Spectacular Patio Festival
Mark your calendars for May 2-12, when the charming Andalucía city of Córdoba transforms into a floral wonderland for the annual Patios de Córdoba festival.
Showcasing 52 stunning displays as part of the competition, although 63 will be open to the public, this visual feast runs daily from 11am until 2pm and again from 6pm to 10pm, inviting visitors to explore breathtaking courtyards brimming with colour and fragrant blooms.
Admission is free, though some of the patios have tip jars and guests may contribute optional donations to assist with ongoing care and cultivation efforts.
Discover the architectural diversity represented across three categories:
- Modern architecture: Featuring 24 contemporary areas
- Renovated architecture: Boasting 21 beautifully restored spaces
- Unique architecture: Highlighting nine extraordinary designs
The patios will be spread through six different routes:
- Five in Regina-Realejo
- Seven in Santa Marina and San Agustín
- Ten in San Lorenzo
- Eight in Santiago and San Pedro
- Ten in Judería and San Francisco
- Twelve in Alcázar Viejo
Among the new features this year will be the presence of a mobile robot, known as ‘Maribot’, which will be stationed in the San Basilio neighbourhood to offer information about the routes to visitors.
The Patios de Córdoba festival will be completed with an extensive program of flamenco and traditional music performances in local bars and restaurants and along the different routes.
Keep in mind that admission is free but municipal controllers will monitor the capacity to ensure the patios don’t become too overcrowded. You’ll also likely encounter some long queues during peak times but your patience is sure to be rewarded by one of Andalucia’s most striking springtime events.
