More rain and flood warnings for Murcia this Thursday afternoon
The northwestern corner of Murcia is on alert, while other parts have cloudy conditions and a chance of rain
After the snowfall in the mountains of Moratalla and the flooding in Cartagena yesterday, it is the turn of the northwestern section of the Region of Murcia to be on yellow alert for the risk of heavy rainfall this Thursday November 14.
This area, around Bullas, Caravaca de la Cruz, Calasparra, Cehegín and Moratalla, is on yellow alert from Aemet between 3pm and 9pm for the risk of accumulated rainfall of up to 15 millimetres per hour.
Specifically, Aemet has warned that the heavy rains could cause problems for drivers on the roads and there is a risk of more floodwater pooling on the streets.
A yellow level alert indicates a “moderate risk”, which means that minor incidents are not to be ruled out.
The warning comes just a day after heavy flooding hit the province of Málaga, but thankfully no one has been reported seriously harmed this time around.
For the rest of the Region of Murcia today, the Aemet forecasts very cloudy skies but a rise in temperatures, which could get up to around 22ºC.
Tomorrow, Friday 15, will see a continuation of these cloudy skies and the rain will be more widespread across the region, though not so heavy.
