New IKEA in Almeria finally has an opening date for next month

The new IKEA store which has long been in the works for Almeria is almost ready to open, with the construction finally finished. Now staff are just arranging the products ahead of the announced launch date.

Located at the head of the Rambla, strategically positioned on the exit from the motorway on Avenida Federico García Lorca, the new IKEA store is due to open its doors to customers on July 5.

The opening times will be from Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 10pm.

IKEA is such a popular brand that it’s estimated that in 2022 alone, 61,000 people from Almeria went to the Malaga and Murcia branches to buy their Swedish-designed flat-pack furniture.

With an investment of around 45.3 million euros, the new Almeria building’s two-storey frame – plus the basement – has large windows outside showing off the first displays of the 5,000 items for sale already in place.

The shop will have a sales area of 7,950 square metres, on a plot that extends over 14,000m2 and includes a restaurant area, the IKEA FOOD corner.

In addition to the products physically available in the shop, customers will be able to access the rest of the catalogue through the IKEA app and by shopping online, picking up items purchased in shop or making use of other services such as Click & Collect.

The Andalucía city of Granada will also open its own IKEA store at the end of July.
