ARCHIVED - Powerful gusts cause at least two injuries in Malaga capital
The strong winds have knocked down trees and injured at least two people already in Malaga

Two people were injured this Monday January 16 in Malaga city in two separate incidents, one of them clearly related to the strong wind in the province, which has caused problems of various kinds, as reported by the Emergency Coordination Centre 112 Andalusia.
First, a woman suffered a head injury when a parasol from a restaurant in the Plaza de la Constitución in the centre of Malaga capital was blown onto her head. The incident occurred at around 1.50pm this Monday, after which the victim opted to go to hospital on her own in a taxi.
Later, a 19-year-old woman was injured when a piece of plastic measuring 50 centimetres long and 40 centimetres wide fell on her from a building. She was taken to the Regional Hospital of Malaga from the place of the incident, at the intersection of Plaza de Toros Vieja and Cuarteles streets in Malaga city.
Meanwhile, a large tree fell on the road in Calle Bolivia, in the eastern area of the city of Malaga, causing traffic jams but thankfully no injuries.
There have been other smaller incidents as a result of the strong winds, including falling trees, branches, fragments of roof tiles or flower pots and other objects.
The storm currently battering Spain has already claimed the life of one person in the Basque Country.
