Santiago de la Ribera to get 125 new tourist apartments
The project covers several streets and comes with a pool and underground parking

Santiago de la Ribera is about to get 125 new tourist apartments, complete with a pool and underground parking. They’ll be built along Calle Isla la Polinesia, Calle Java, Calle Perdiguera and Calle San Miguel, by the company Construcciones Avilés Vicente.
The local Town Hall in San Javier has put the project out for a 20 day public consultation, so anyone can take a look at the plans and raise any concerns. The documents are available online through the town’s website or in person at the urban planning office.
More apartments mean there will be more visitors in the town, which could be good for shops, cafés, and restaurants. Many people feel developments like this are needed, as there aren’t many aparthotels or hotels along the Mar Menor coast. At the same time, it could make the streets busier, especially in summer, and change the feel of some of the quieter areas.
The project does include gardens and outdoor areas and follows environmental rules. For now, the consultation period gives people a chance to see what’s planned and have their say before anything starts.
