First European Mobility Week in Mazarrón timetable for walking routes and tours
The timetable of activities in Mazarrón for the first European Mobility Week, which will be held from 17 to 22 September 2024, under the slogan of sustainable mobility and respect for the environment.
Raise awareness among citizens about the importance of adopting more sustainable and environmentally friendly transport habits, promoting the use of alternative means of transport to the car, such as public transport, cycling and walking.
Programme of activities
Tuesday September 17
The Week is inaugurated with the First Conference for Mobility in Mazarrón, which will take place at the Casa de la Cultura, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm.
Wednesday September 18
Walking tour from the IES Felipe II school to the mines. A walk for students and residents that promotes physical activity and the discovery of the local natural environment. Tours take place from 8.15 am to 12.00 pm.
Thursday September 19
Walking tour of the coves of Bolnuevo from Puntabela, in which the IES Antonio Hellín and Siglo XXI schools will participate. An opportunity to get to know and enjoy the coast of Mazarrón, from 8.15 am to 12.00 noon.
Friday September 20
Walking tour from IES Domingo Valdivieso school to the mines. Another initiative to explore natural heritage and promote pedestrian mobility. From 8.15 am to 12.00 noon.
Saturday September 21
"5k Bahía de Mazarrón Race", a healthy competition that will run along the Paseo Marítimo and El Alamillo, taking in the new paseo. Departure is scheduled at 10.00 am.
Sunday September 22
Car-free day. Avenida Constitución will be closed to traffic from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm to make way for activities related to mobility. There will be a tour of the tourist train through the municipality, a healthy breakfast, traditional games, architectural barrier circuits and children's workshops. In addition, simulations of glasses that recreate the effects of alcohol and drug consumption, interactive games, simulators and information stands featuring health will be offered.
The Town Council of Mazarrón and Local Police join the European effort to improve mobility in towns and cities, promoting alternatives to the car and promoting more active and healthy lifestyles.
